

On July 28, 2019 The Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and Civil Society Organizations and Networks at the sub-national level, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to increase and boost effective communication between departments and civil society that has a positive impact on the process of litigation and institutionalization of accountability.
The agreement was signed in accordance with the laws and policies of the country between IDLG and civil society organizations and networks at the sub-national level.
As an active and effective organization at the local level, Afghan Human Rights Research and Advocacy Organization was the leading institution which initiated this process in order to improve the effective collaboration and responsiveness of the governmental organization at the local level.
On behalf of AHRRAO, Mr. Rajab Ali Ibrahimi was participating this process and signed the MoU with IDLG.
Within this conference, Mr. Timor Sharan in his speech added that, “the MOU aims to enhance, develop and strengthen joint cooperation between the IDLG, local administration and civil society organizations and networks in the provincial planning process, provincial budgets, social accountability campaigns, public needs and relevant complaints in regards to the good governance, it’s worth to mention that, CSOs play major roles in good governance by conducting robust monitoring and oversight of local institutional reforms and their impacts.”
